Illustrations make empty states, onboarding and landing pages feel friendlier. The risk is looking generic, because the most popular free sets are everywhere.
Two ways to avoid that: recolor a set to your brand, or use a builder where you compose your own scenes from parts.

1. unDraw
unDraw is the classic open-source illustration set. Pick any color and the whole library recolors to it before you download. Very common, so it works best with your own colors and small edits.
Good for: Recolorable illustrations for any topic

2. Open Peeps
Open Peeps by Pablo Stanley is a hand-drawn library of people you build from parts: poses, faces, hair, clothes. Mixing parts makes it easy to get characters nobody else has.
Good for: Hand-drawn people you compose yourself

3. Humaaans
Humaaans, also by Pablo Stanley, is a mix-and-match people library in a flat, colorful style. Swap poses, clothes and skin tones to build scenes.
Good for: Flat, colorful people scenes

4. Open Doodles
Open Doodles is a set of loose, sketchy illustrations, free for anything. The hand-drawn feel suits friendly products and playful pages.
Good for: Playful sketchy drawings

5. DrawKit
DrawKit has free illustration packs in several styles, plus paid ones. The free packs are well made and consistent within each pack.
Good for: Consistent illustration packs

6. Storyset
Storyset, from Freepik, lets you customize illustrations and even animate them in the browser. Free use usually needs attribution, so check the terms.
Good for: Customizable and animated illustrations

7. Blush
Blush is an illustration builder with collections from different artists. Pick a style, change characters and colors, export. Some features are paid.
Good for: Building scenes in different artist styles
Absurd Design offers surreal, odd illustrations that stand out from the usual flat people. Good for brands that want to feel different.
Good for: Surreal illustrations with character
illlustrations is an open-source kit hand-drawn by Vijay Verma, with a warm, simple style that fits product and landing pages.
Good for: Warm hand-drawn product scenes
Black Illustrations offers illustrations featuring Black people, with free packs. A good way to make product visuals more representative.
Good for: Representative people illustrations

11. Artvee
Artvee collects high resolution public domain paintings, posters and illustrations. Not UI art, but great for editorial pages, covers and moodboards.
Good for: Public domain art and posters
